hi every1 the WA members will know wat i mean when i say it rained today... puddles and heavy rain most of the day.

the bf was parked at the vines golf course most of the day in the rain. had a beautiful run up there.. however getting back from the vines was a whole different story... the car wouldnt start... eventually got it going... go into D... and it seemed to be struggling... the D indicator on the speedo was flashing put into sequential could not get it out of 3rd.. limped home at about 70kmh down the roe highway and then pull into the garage... turn it off.. wonder if it will start... turn the key starts fine. quick trip up the road didnt miss a beat.. could something in the electrics got flooded ? im really concerned to know whats going on. will be ringing the dealer tomorrow morning

thanx

Yeah id be taking that straight to ford.
The trans controller is in the gearbox from my knowledge on the ZF's.
Very strange problem but one id be getting Ford to fix, it obviously went into limp home mode

yeh exactly. It should have logged a fault code to tell you why it went in to limp home mode.

i thought it went into limp mode... its running fine at the moment. it made it out the welshpool today without a problem. so if i take it into any ford dealer they will be able to pick up on wat happened?

theres a small likelyhood they can find what the error was. theres a significantly larger one that it will cost lots of coin and you'll be with out a car for a day or two

Dealer bashing aside, the ECU stores the error codes (known as DTCs) and can keep the last 20 or so in memory, so as long as you don't have 20 more problems, it'll be readable.

Alternative find someone local with a OBD2 scanner and Workshop manual, they'll be able to tell what the code is.
