Hi guys,
I have a BF XR6 NA with a 6 speed manual Transmission. Could anyone tell me what the existing diff gear ratio is in the car? Also i have heard people say that upgrading to a 4.1:1 will use a great amount of fuel, but given that i have the 6 speed manual would it be better than using the 4 speed auto in terms of consumption? I was thinking that since there are more gears it would keep the revs a little lower, but i am not sure. What would be the best ratio for my car to keep a balance of daily and a little more punch off the mark. Cheers Brett.

i dunno about the N/A's, but the Turbos with the 6speed manual have 3.73:1 diffs.
what rpm does yours sit on at 100km/h in 6th?

3.46:1 sounds familiar.
Yes a shorter diff will affect fuel economy. Not so much around town if you're a lead foot. But on the highway you'll notice it most.

yeah sounds like 3.73's, i have them in my ute with a T56 and it sits on 2000rpm at 100km/h. pretty sure the 3.45 was only in the 4 spd auto and 5spd manual. the ZF got a 2.73 afaik.
