I've an 6 speed Auto BF GT and have noticed a "creak" or clicking like noise when initially going into drive after being in reverse, or reverse after being in drive.

Has anyone had simular noises, if so what was the problem.

Thanks

does it do it from say park to reverse? or neutral to reverse, proabably the sound of the suspension when the car's rear pulls down when going into gear.

no it doesn't do it after being in park, only after being loaded up in drive or reverse first so I'm enclined to thing its more of a diff issue than suspension

could be a little backlash in the diff?

would you say creak, or more of a clunk or dull thud.

its more like a clicking noise, as a worn CV joint would sound like.

More than likely its the end yoke on the midship spline (driveshaft) clinking under load. Take it back to ford and have them split the driveshaft and apply loc tite to the spline.

No need for guns! most good dealerships know of the problem and how to fix it.

Their solution to fixing it is saying its "normal" and pissing you off, ford recognise the clunk that all their diffs from ba on do, but say it is normal and will not fix it, unfortuneately, like the rest of us, you will just have to get used to it, or turn the stereo up.

My GT will be due for service early Feb which is when I plan on having this clicking issue resolved. If I dont get any joy out of Ford then my plan is to mention what Joolz has advise.

Will surely let ya'll know the outcome... stay tuned!!
