Hey Guys! I currently have a bf xt 08 model falcon 3 seater mk2 column shift Ute, it has just clicked over 203***kms and my transmission is starting to play up. The problem I am having is when Im cruising along and I put the accelerator down and the transmission changes down a gear to match the input but as it changes it gives a massive clunk. I've done minor performance mods to the vehicle being extractors and underdrives. I presume the transmission is starting to give way with the amount of kms done over time and the minor torque increase wouldn't be helping....
I've done some quick research and I'm pretty sure I want to replace it altogether. I do know of a few options tho. Am I better off reconditioning my current auto or replacing my auto all together with a new one, Wether it be one with low kms or whatever? Is there anything else out there that I can do to maybe handle the minor torque increase and maybe give me a little bit more performance output? Wether it be increased response timing or so. There could be plans in the future to maybe change diff ratios and maybe other mods. So with the auto transmission I'm just not to sure what's out there with what works and what doesn't? do I just go with an original 4 speed trans? Or is there something better? Thx hope to hear your response.
