hi guys and girls just bought a second hand zf gearbox to replace my old one cause the heat exchanger failed. ford quoted me 7000 plus dollars to recondition which I don't have that sort of coin. now that ive got the new gearbox in it wont marry up to the car so it is in limp mode 3rd gear all the way. ford tells me they can't reprogram the gearbox to match the car. is that a bunch of s**t or what? is there a way around this or not?

afaik to use that zf box you fitted, you need the pcm that was originally with that box.
then ford can marry the pcm to the bcm..

otherwise you have a big a** paper weight...

i thought it was just the box needs re-programming. as my friend had his gearbox totally replaced under warranty from the old milkshake.

if all else fails. manual the c**t!!

cheers guys car goes in tomorrow to get old gearbox module put in the new one hope it works. otherwise 3 grand down the drain and my holiday is lost for nothing.
