Hey guys,
Just bought a set of 18" wheels for the Falcon and realised just how small the standard rotors are... so I want bigger ones! I did a search and couldn't really find much so I'm asking the question... Is it possible to fit larger rotors to an EF Sedan? I know people have done this but I can't seem to find the threads I've seen it in! The only thing I really gathered from reading up is that all E-series came with the same size rotors except for the GT and FBT's... How much bigger are these rotors from standard? The DBA slotted rotors are that same diameter as standards aren't they? Any help would be great, Thanks.

EL GT/FBT rotor is 297mm IIRC, but its not just the rotor, the caliper needs to be changed as well, and then to fit that caliper the spindle is different. Google Cebco brake kits, see what you think of the price. Or, apparently some bloke on ebay that does brake upgrades has an engineered kit for e-series as well, that he hasn't put up yet, "mr spares" or some crap.

Yeh... I realised the whole brake setup needs to be replaced... After posting I chatted to a guy who had already looked into it in detail and realised just how astronomical the cost is... I think I'll just grab a set of DBA slotters and be content

I know a bloke that went for the AP Racing kit from cebco for his EL, not much change out of 4thou. Think I'll be looking at the same to do my EB. Although, seeing that pic of yours, my current rotors aren't as small as I thought.

Yeh... tempting to all e-series owners who have 17's or 18's fitted and who have a spare $4k laying around...

The EL GT/FBT front Rotors are 330mm, with twin spot calipers. The perrson that was doing the upgrades was joe @ CMS http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11579 But I am not too sure if he is still doing them at the moment.

good god when are you gonna paint your kit? almost looks like a commodore when they fit their unpainted kits and drive around on them, its a tad embarrassing

It's a tad hard when I actually drive my car everyday. Besides, it's only been fitted and unpainted for about a week... And quite frankly how is that a helpful comment in the slightest??

Another problem with the AP Racing brakes is that I don't think anyone does them for the rear. So you would have monster brakes on the front and miniatures on the rear. Probably look funny on open style rims like those. I looked into this a few months back but it is way too expensive unless you have massive power. My DBAs work just fine. Big improvement over standard.

I think I'll just grab a set of DBA slotters and be content pretty much the path i went down after i installed my 19s... DBA slotted and drilled... looks prettier.. and performs better...

How are the drilled ones working out for you? I've only been given bad reports for them... People say they warp a hell of a lot easier...
I just popped a bid on a front pair of slotted DBA's on eBay which are as new for $5 the pair! I may get lucky...
