has anyone fitted 235/50/16' tyres to an el xr8 tickford rim? if so, what brand?

Nope, but you have expensive tastes in tyres!
getting 235 wide on a 7inch wide 16inch rim wouldn't be cheap i imagine. If you're after grip, just pay a bit more for a decent set of 225's, something like Yokohama's, or the sorts. Dave |

I used to have 245/50/16's on ELXR Tickford rims on the rear of my wagon before changing to EL GT's - they do fit...and I liked them on the wagon due to the LWB / extra weight factor...it handled pretty good (for a wagon!) IMO.

Well, Toyo have a 245/50/16 and approved rim widths is 7.0" - 8.5".
So I'd say a 235/50/16 would be fine. Just keep the tyre pressures up to at least 36Psi to conteract the bagging. |
