ive been intrested in something like this too. it was my understanding you need a pretty good cam aswell inorder to get the revs to normal.... not too sure.

what?

Can you run a high stall in a stock engine and still have a drivable car?

it depends on the converter.

You really should provide all the engine and driveline specs plus a dyno sheet to someone like the converter shop. that way you'll get a converter that suits your car. other wise it's just pissing in the dark

2200-2500 stallie would go alright for you I reckon. Any higher in stall speed and it would be a waste of time unless you run a cam which makes power from the mid-upper revs.

If it goes into LHM, either get an anti-LHM module from Shiftkits or get a J3 done with LHM disabled.

thanks dude. good reply. very helpful. exactly what i'm looking for. will it make any difference that my EB has a TCM? it is currently running a standard Tickford cam/head setup. when i put a stally in it i may get a cam to suit

wildeb, its hardly wild, every 2nd eb on this site has the same mods if not more.

dragging wont prove anything other then your mouth can talk you into more then your car can get out of.

Where does the cam in your car kick in?
Has it been on a Dyno?
If yes then where is max torque?

Isn't a STD stall in EF or EL 2200
And I thought EA EB or ED was 1800

What diff gears have you got?

cam is a Tickford cam. but can change if neccessary. haven't had it on a dyno. and diff gears are 3.27:1
