is there a correct procedure to bleeding the brakes an EL XR6?

Start with the wheel furthest from brake cylinder. In other words, back left, then back right, front left and finally front right.

Yes.
Passenger rear, Drivers rear, Passenger front, drivers front. Don't go stupid either, you are bleeding brakes not trying to crack your master cylinder.

I removed the res from the master.....there is a little bolt underneath....8mm I think.....doesn't need to be done up tight either....it is a "shouldered" bolt.....so it doesn't actually clamp down on the res.....have a look with a little mirror-on-a-stick and you'll see what I mean.
