Do you guys also think i need the camber caster kit at all as its only being lowered 1inch and thge pedders guys said i may get away with it so i thought id buy it just in case.

Ride and handling are pretty good. 'm happy with the ride as it's not bumpy or all that hard. It's very comfortable. I've had a quote to do swaybars and nolathanes for ages. Just need time to do it, then handling ought to be where I want it.

Any of you guys using a camber/caster kit at all?

I bought 1 becuz while in there changing springs and shocks i might as well throw it in just in case it is out and have to pay for it to be fitted which would suck.

Yeh i thought it would be a good idea to get them in just in case that it needs that little extra tweeking to get the front end all lines up correctly.

I just thought to myself is a camber/caster kit a legal or illegal mod????

a camber kit is an adjustment thing. it would be perfectly legal.

i listened to the workshops that did wheel alignments on mine for me when they said that it should be fine without a camber kit. that as a big mistake cost me two sets of front tyres. (first shop said it would be fine = f**k tyres. second shop put on new tyres and told they had stood the wheels up more [which they had done] but still = f**k tyres)

my advice to anyone lowering the car ( i cant remember if you said you are putting in new springs or not) is to just do it so it doesnt cost more in the long run

Yeh im going new psring and shocks all round and thought while im there ill do a camber & caster kit just in case as with old suspension components it will be out. So better doing it and do it properly as i dont want to go under the car again and stuff around with it all.

I noticed that there is a height difference when i put them side by side in the rear spring which is about 8-10mm longer and that the rear spring is a thinner steal than the front by about 2-3mm but front spring is alot harder to compress than the rear???

The front springs are made stiffer partly because the front is heavier, partly because you want stiffer springs on the front for better handling and bottoming resistance, and partly because the fronts are subject to a lever ratio (i.e. because of where they act on the lower arm, the actual rate at the wheel is less).

Comparing the actual springs shown, the front is stiffer mainly because of the thicker wire, secondly because of the smaller internal diameter, and lastly because there are less turns of wire. The progressive section plays a role, but it's mainly there i imagine to prevent them from becoming loose at full droop.

Installed springs and shocks today guys and they are a not bad package.

Pedders stuffed up abit with my springs as i asked to get 585mm front and rear but some how got 590mm front and 560mm and my car looks like a GT HO now LOL but they are going to replace the rear to get 585mm hopefully.

When i purchased them i asked many times is it going to sit at 585mm and they guy was sure but obviosuly not. When i called him when we dropped the car he said that our springs sit at that height with our GSR shocks. I dont know how he stuffed up but it sucks that with there specifications is only on all there products.

Overall the car feels like a new car ride with improved handling, ride and comfort. So if your looking for something that will bring the car back to a new feel then this is the way to go unless u want more performance handling then u have to look at other products out there.

I'll post up some pictures tomorrow so you all can see.
