I am fitting a cleveland into my old XK falcon and I want to run a T5 behind it. I know it can be done, but I don't want to pay a fortune for a conversion kit. I'm sure I've read some info about using a single rail bell housing and machining the bearing housing on the front of an I6 T5 box slightly to fit in the hole in the single rail bellhousing. I believe there is also some hole relocating that has to go on. Anyone done it? I searched the threads and came up blank.

pilch on AFF had an EA 6 cylinder T5 behind his clevo'd XC so have a search on there, he had plenty of info up.

On a side note, how'd you get clearance for the clevo in the XK?

I put a T5 in an xb ute behind a clevo, just get a bellhousing from Dellow they are about $400, then bolts straight up, just need to slightly modify cross member.

Hi guys, been doing the family thing for a few days, so missed a couple of your messages (sorry). I just called a mechanical shop that has done the conversion before and he confirmed that a single rail bell housing is the trick. I will fit a couple of "slugs" into it to tap a new thread for the bottom bolts. I will put photos on here as I go. As for the way to fit a clevelend into the engine bay, you buy an L300 Mitsi front suspension unit and do away with those nasty intrusive spring towers! Photos soon! This is all police OK'd, just bought my McDonald brothers triangulated four link kit from Fat Pickups in Morley for the back end. Got to get it done before I move house.

Here's some shots for one and all. I'm going to use an L300 frontend under my XK, so I can remove the spring towers and fit in a clevo. I picked up a van near my place, I think it's a 85 model. I knocked on the door and paid $150 for it. I should get most of that back because it has a new radiator and the motor goes etc. You can see my XK in the background. I already have another L300 frontend in the shed (shed's a mess, I know!) for a hotrod I'm fiddling with, so I included a shot of it to show how one looks. This one has had all the mounts trimmed off, so it really only gives you an idea on their configuration. All the steering arms and the springs are off it too. You can see the clevo in the background if you look close. I'll see if I can post a shot of the freshly harvested one with all it's peripherals attached once it's out. I know I digressed a bit, but it's all the same project.
