I backed the car down the driveway this afternoon only to find I couldnt stop the thing as ive got no power assisted brakes all of a sudden.

The first thing I do is check the vacum hoses and I find that the fuel reg vac hose has actually come off, but I reattach it, check the brake booster has suction etc which all seemed to be good. But the brakes are still dead.

I really need to be able to drive the car tomorrow and im kinda f**k without brakes..

Well I called the NRMA and they reckon the brake booster is dead. Suction is fine and theres no engine idle change when putting yer foot down. Hooray this week sucks balls..

From what I understand, it's fairly common for EF/EL boosters to crack - that could be your problem.

Yep, ive found the crack even..

Hopefully some strong tape will save me for now..
