got a set of rda slotted rotors and standard pads came free with them.

doing some, well for now i'll say around town driving and the brake fade after not that long is quite noticible.

i know theres been a few threads on bendex and ferodo pads and the different makes. ive got the EL GT wheels so they should breathe fine, but they just dont pull up the way they should after. plus it takes a while for them to cool even at 60-80k's. as well they are chucking out a heap of dust when they do over heat. much more then usual.

there was a thread not long ago about stopping from 100k's. i did the test with coolish brakes and pulled it up in 55 odd metres. about 700m on i did it again and took me well over 75! i stopped counting after 60! just to put in in perspective.

other then that i can't really fault them for a free set of pads i got. they dont throw too much dust usually and they dont squeak untill they get over heated.

anyone else had issues with fade from stock or aftermarket stock pads that bad?

How long have they been on there??? It takes a few K's to break them in.
If you do hard stops from the start, you only succeed in stuffing the friction material on the pads. Brake fade is when the resins in the brake pad boil, creating gas, forcing the pad off the rotor.
I modify the pads when I fit them to my car.

brake fade is when the brake fluid in the calipers boils creating steam pockets thus losing your hydraulics. if u had brake fade the pedal would go to the floor and your brakes wouldnt work and the only way to fix it is to change your brake fluid.

sounds like what your describing is that your pads are overheating or just a hard pad which doesnt work when it gets hot. it's not unusual.

i run dba's and lucus pads, have had them steaming through some twisties, and they were pulling up quite well. allthough my pads dont like to work when very cold, and make MASS dust.

options for you;
- replace breake fluid
- braided lines
- better pads, come on they were free, a good set of pads cost around the same a one of the rda rotors.

Do your self a favour mate,fords in my opinion have s**t brakes, put in a set of bendix ultimates,put up with a bit of dust but you will have trouble getting them to fade , they grab well, they are aggressive on rotors but think about it , theyll machine your discs for ya when wou drive rather than machining them every 3 months,and they stop great ,they are much the same as what ford put in the car from the factory, and yeahh flush your brake fluid with some good dot 3,4 fluid

I am running standard dba rotors.
The first set of pads I ran on these rotors were bendix advance, they suffered fade quite easily.
I have been running (trialing for a brake shop) Maxistop Taxis for the last 15,000km.
They are metal pads so they eat rotors.
They didnt have much bite for the first 1,000km but have great feel no fade so far and stop the car extreemly well. Very happy with them.

bendix are old school squeaky s**t, i tow tandems and stuff in my car and i found buying pads around the $40 mark are best dusty yer but everyday driver friendly.

yeah, heard the advanced and ultimates are a bit squeaky

had the setup for about 9 months or so.

Depends which model Bendix. The General CT's arn't too bad.
You'll find that the $40 dollar pads are softer and therefor are perfect for light driving. There up to s**t when you start giving the car some but...
