Ok, so I think I already know my answer before I even ask the question, I am pretty clued up when it come to brakes, especially E series brakes. I am looking for a brake pad in the DB1108 that would suit dedicated track day use.
Stuff like your standard bendix or lucas or QFM gear is along way from desirable. I am looking at purchasing a set of DB1108 SRT's Yep, ebay has the best price on them by a long way, long story short is... They are going on an EF GLi DEDICATED track car, it will have braided lines and some brake ducting but otherwise the brake system will remain pretty much stock, the obvious stuff like rotors has already been done. I had a set of Bendix HD's in it, just to get me through the first track day I did with it, but lets just say, they did not stand up to the task too well, even a well serviced brake system, I had pretty much terminal brake fade after 2 laps. I refuse to upgrade the brakes as bigger stuff it too expensive for what I am trying to achieve with this car. When I say I am racing on a shoe string budget, you better believe it. but then I am not dumb enough to try and save a few dollars in the name of safety. So.. back to my original question. I already know SRT's are good gear, EBC can go to hell, ferodo do not make anything really suitable anymore as they have discontinued the Formula R range. Can anyone tell what other top shelf gear I may have missed? Cheers.

Maybe fit a few of these for use in the later laps?

Is that a 5.0L Windsor block?
If it is, you can only use those as boat anchors Troy. |

Endless, pagid and project Mu do not make a DB1108 pad, I have had a look at the QFM's I ran a set of the A1RM's in the TE, and I was not very impressed with them, I changed them out after 7,000km. I am running SRT's in the TE and have had no issues with them, and no fade with them either, but track conditions are VERY different.

QFM's A1RM are great track pad. A bit hard on the street, need a bit of heat in them to work properly, but on the street, shouldn't be using brakes hard anyway
I use A1RM on my AU XR8 track car with great success. |
