Just jumped in my car this morning, the brake pedal is hard and wont go down. The brakes work but it seems like the vacum is stuck on. I don't know what to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It's an EF Ghia

there's a good chance your brake booster has cracked, or the vacuum line has come off or split.

Did you pull out the nylon washers that slide over the pin and into the pedal (assuming the brakes are similar to the clutch pedal).

I figured it out. First goes a blue nylon washer, then you carefully slide the brake pedal into the booster lever but not all the way, then grab the brake switch, there is a hole in one side and the other side has the same type of hole except it there is a gap. I slid the gap into the side where I put the blue nylon washer, then the part of the switch with a hole, I lined it up to the brake lever since I didn't insert it the whole way. As soon as it lined up I pushed the lever all the way in, securing the brake switch, then i put the green bylon washer, on the brake pedal assembly, then the pin back in and Bang it all worked. The reason I am describing how I did it is so that if anyone elese gets stuck on the same issue, they might get some tips from this.

Thanks for your help
