As for my EF i get the same thing so im pretty sure its just the disks. Im going to go with the DBA slotted.

Don't think that will fix the Ford brake shudder.
Put brand new DBA rotors slotted , new bearings (re checked after 1000KM), new pads , calipers rebuilt.15,000KM down the track and the old brake shudder is back.

I give up!!!!!
Replaced stub axles with new top and bottom ball joints.
New rack and pinoin fitted with new tie rod ends.
New front shocks
Castor kit installed and wheel alignment done.
Wheel alignment re checked after 1 week.

Got the "newish" rotors re machined and new brake pads fitted.(bendix CT)

All good but another 18,000KM and shudder has returned.
I really are questioning the quality of DBA rotors now!
Mabey RDA or PBR I might have better luck with.
If anyone has an answer please advise.
OH and my wife drives the car with the kids in it and doesn't treat the brakes like a race car.

Cheers

Mate, exact same problem with my elxr8! Ive got slotted DBA rotors with brembo pads - still shudders!!!!!!!

My neighbour with his AUIII xr8 has the EXACT same problem also...

His mate with a BA MKII xr8 does the same thing!!

Think of changing rotor brands myself, but want to know for certain if its going to fix the problem before wasting $$$ :? :?

i was talking to a mate at a brake shop and he said it was the design of the ford wheels, and that they splashed alot of water onto the disc rotors. and the temperature disparaity between the cool water and the hot discs warped them.

i put slotted rotors on my old ef and they warped after a few thou kays, and i dont remember driving int he rain with them. either way, they never got as bad as the stock discs
