Hey guys,

My EF has developed some severe brake shudder under light braking. Front discs are slotted DBA and standard rear. I am thinking I have warped my rears as this started the day after I did the first stally in this car. (only owned it few months)

There is a definiate shudder through the whole car when light braking, and even a small one under heavy. I can feel the feedback through the pedal. (feels like its pumping/bouncing)

The auto is pretty much on it's last legs and I want to make sure that it not causing this prob.

Any help or ideas are much appreciated! (PS. I am on a very limited budget as most of us are)

hey, same problem as me....they are warped. ive been instructed by a guy who used to work at ford and he said the amount of ppl coming back to get their slotted and drilled replaced cos they have warped is rediculous. he said f**k em off and get just standards, maybe sloted if you wanted but dont go for drilled!!!

itll cost your about $97 a corner for new discs

The fronts are only slotted. Don't know where you getting prices from but I only paid $90ea for the front slotted.

How would the front be warped? It was the rear wheels doing 100+ under braking.

So its the whole car that shudders under braking? i.e. not the steering wheel?

Certainly sounds like rear discs are warped.

*meh* get em machined, chuck some new pads in (not talking huge $$$ here) and see how it goes.

Yeah, seems to be the whole car. I can feel it through steering and pedal. (pedal is the worst) but it does not seem too bad sometimes. Last night it was *meh* I can live with this, but this morning it was shocking. A mate of mine is an E series nut (owned them for 10+years) after a drive last night reckons rear discs too.

I think machine & pads to start with as you guys suggest.
