Have a modded ED 5.0L with ABS and am replacing Front & rear Rotors with DBA slotted, also new calipers all round and formula ferodo TS2000 pads.

Am considering dicing the DOT4 ford brake fluid and change to AP Racing DOT5.1.

Can I just add the DOT 5.1 and keep bleeding until it comes thru all the calipers or do I flush first with metho. If use metho - how do I do it and get it all out.

Any issues with ABS with this flush.

abs and flush no the fluid just passes through the abs unit no dramas!

as for flusing all i have done is bleed the brakes in this order as it goes from longest line to shortest

passenger rear, drivers rear, passenger front, drivers front

as for the dot5.1 i have no idea if you can mix it with dot 4.or that flushing the system with metho is a good idea.. and to get the metho out u just flush with more brake fluid

I'm pretty sure dot 5.1 superseeds dot 4 so there should really be any problems there!

ive never used metho - doesnt sound good to me!

i am pretty sure that u can not mix teh 2 fluids together
and that the system needs to be cleaned before dot 5.1 can be used
