Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I want to know what brake upgrades are available for my EF. I currently run DBA slotted on the front and standard rear discs with Ultimates all round but am thinking of upgrading to a bigger disc and 4 spot caliper. (Yes CMS does them but I do not want to change my offset)
Can anyone give me some advice on what they are running, or even if they could point me in the right direction of a reputable specialist in Melb who can supply parts. As I said at the top, I do not want to change my offset as I have a good set of rims in E-series offset, so unless CMS have made a mod to their package I didn't read about they will not suit. Thanks in advance! |

Hoping someone could say "go to/call XXXXXX shop, they did mine and im stoked" Until I call Cebco tomorrow the only option I see is CMS. *EDIT* But I did just see your brake upgrade, and they are E-series offset. That is exactly what I am looking for. Race Brakes Sydney?? hope so cos they now own Cebco How do you like them?? Are they as good as I hope? Do you have any trouble getting pads? I appreciate all your help. |

As for my kit, it's good, expensive though (I think the price is now near $5,000.00). As for pads, they're universal AP Racing calipers, so getting pads will never be impossible, I've yet to have to do so though as I havn't had them long enough to wear through a set yet. Really your options are UPS or MR-BRAKES or whatever he calls himself (eBay fella, easy to find), you've also got Joe at CMS which you already know about and then RBS who do a few different kits depending on your budget (anything from around $2,000.00 to $5,000.00). |

If you want to speak to someone who know about brakes, I can recommend Hoppers Stoppers in Hoppers Crossing. Telephone Peter and he'll give you the right advice about the big brake options and the problems you'll encounter with aftermarket brakes (and suppliers).
They know their stuff because customers come from interstate to get work done.

Mr spares kit you have to run au offset wheels though, so either have to change to an au diff or get two different offset wheels. Will have to make sure you have an engineer willing to sign off on it, as even though your insurance says they will cover break upgrades if it isn't mod plated and you try to claim they bend you over til your nose bleeds.

Cheers, I appreciate all the help. I wasn't really looking to spend 5k on the brakes, especially if I gotta buy 2 new rims or a new diff and swap internals so I guess that kinda puts the killer on things.
I am really after a better pedal feel and a touch more stopping power, so me is thinking new booster & master cyl would be the go with a set of cross drilled front rotors and slotted rears. Thanks to everyone for your input! |

If you havn't already, start with a decent set of tyres on the front (yes, I mean decent), a decent set of brake pads, some braided brake lines and slotted/cross drilled rotors (personally I run slotted on the front and crossdrilled/slotted on the rear), and a flush with some decent fluid (I use that PBR one in the silver bottle, think it retails about $45.00 for 500ml) - you should find this will make a significant different alone.
