Its an ugly sound. and has only happened recently.

I think its time im up for new breakes. whats it gonna costs me for some sexy looking ones. it would be a bonus if they stopped too :)

I would think i need the whole works. Pads and the rest. So while there are previous posts. i would assume that the costs are outdated.

Any information would be appreciated

Hey mate,

Plenty of threads around if you wanna have a browse.. but the basics:

-Sounds like your pads are done. If there's no meat left on them it will sound like metal grinding on metal.

-This will most likely give your discs a caning, if they werent hammered already.

Here's the DBA sheet for standard ford brakes:

Column D is the minimum thickness - if its near/below that then replace the rotor as well as the pad. Repack the front wheel bearings while you're at it.
