When i had my EF XR8 with a 400hp 347 stroker i had DBA slotted rotors all round with EBC red stuff pads and it pulled up alright. I now have on my daily DBA slotted rotors with ultimate pads all round on my EL GLi and they also pull up alright. I can say that by doing that basic upgrade gave me 10-15% better braking.

Now my cureent setup on my EL GLi set me back $830.00 for the following parts

-Standard DBA slotted front rotors
-Standard DBA slotted rear rotors
-Braided brakes lines Front and Rear
-Ultimate pads Front and Rear

Plus friehgt as they were sent from melb to sydney

Now if they can provide a front brake kit as in the above ebay link which will provide 30-40% better braking for under $1500.00, why not???

Dont forget thats just doing the front, then do the rear i would say ur braking will be improved as a whole system by 50%.

There are more E series falcons coming up with turbo & supercharger conversion and once ur hitting 280rwhp and u do some spirited driving then u will need a upgrade. I know i would rather have a upgrade and have the piece of mind that i have a decent set of brakes to pull me up if i have an emergency.

So considering price factor and percentage of better braking power i personally think it would be a great set on gear to have on the market for us all.

I am the same as everyone else i would defiantly be in if they were E-series off set. I have been looking around for awhile to find a kit in E-series offset very hard to come by. The EF is off to the dyno shop soon so will really need some big brakes. Come on bring BIG BRAKES IN E_SERIES OFFSET :D

ill be in for sure , i dont think too many guys would really worry about the back brake upgrade ,$1500 for the front would be quite cheap ,just need to get the numbers behind you to make this happen

Talking to 1 of the reps at the Nats on the weekend, he reckons he gets a huge amount of queries for E series and although he doesn't have a kit, is willing to custom make a set using a 330mm 2 piece disc with 6 or 8 piston calipers (for the same price) to any offset u like - which includes standard E series offsets - attractive to me as I wanna keep my Simmons. Anyway, he uses the K-sport calipers, which look good but I can't find anyone that has actually used them here. I know they are TUV approved but forgot to ask about ADR approval, the full kit + lines, pads everything $2200 fronts - even less if I go in and mention the Nats conversation (will do trade price) or if a group buy is organised. The euro buzz boxes in the UK seem to use them and I've only heard bad stuff about the Ksport coil overs. They look well made and meaty but I'd like to talk to a customer first - anyone done it?
ps. rear are a 4 piston for $2400, they also do drift style handbrake setups.
The workshop is sydney based - maybe 1 of the locals can go in and have a talk with them where no Nats patrons are trying to knock off there stuff - they were pretty occupied with some sneaky buggers when I was talking with them.

Ratman

Send me as much info by pm on who to talk 2 in regards to this kit.

Race brakes sydney kits are a very good kit and if i had to choose from the 2 i would choose RBS purely becuz ive chatted to 5 ppl about them and there all happy with the kit and all replacement parts are off the shelf.

What im trying to achieve from this is a cheaper brake upgrade kit. Something between $1000-1500.00 which is affordable compared to $2200.00. Ive noticed alot of ppl are not willing to part with that much money for front brakes and thats why if we all had something else cheaper that would be great and affordable.

Just like the holdens out there where they have there cheaper upgrades then they have the expensive all out brakes. So all we need it now a cheaper alternative :D

Will do Mickeyyyy, thats understood about race brakes, they do a nice setup and its reasonably priced. I'm just not convinced that using 2 piston commo stuff or even the EL GT spec is worth pursuing - given the direction I've gone with my car - and yes, most people won't spend that much which is fine. I've been looking for a long time now and its a shame there isn't really a decent entry level upgrade for the E's, I did get some mega buck quotes from Hoppers down in vic, great gear but I could by another 2 EBXR8s for the price lol.

I'll send u the contacts for the other group just in case u wanna chase it up out of interest anyway.

As for pads for the ksport kit, they had endless, bendix and a few others there on display - not sure what was the 'standard' package inclusion, we'll see if mickeyyyy can find out.

I think Race Brakes Sydney can also do 4 & 6 spot brakes for E series, maybe you should give him a call.

Hey guys

Ive tried a couple people for a brake setup for under $1500.00 and it looks like its just not gona happen. Apparently there is $1500 worth of machining on the stib axcle alone.

Im going to try a couple more people and see how we go. If they say no then the cheapest kit around would be the UPC kit.

GUESS WHAT GUYS I HAVE A ENGINEER ON BOARD WHO IS KEEN ON MAKING A KIT FOR US

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'll be going to his workshop on the 21st to play around with some setups and what i need from you guys is this.

used BF XR twin spot caliper
used 322mm BA rotor or territory rotor

He already has a 4 spot willwood caliper with 330mm rotor setup already and has sold over a dozen of them with fantasic performance.

He will get this kit all approved to meet ADR's and kit will be ABS compatible as well.

He asked if we can get a minimum of 5 people on board and put there money were there mouth is and start making them up. Of course he will have 1 on a car tested and get the owner to test it properly and give feedback to us all.

s**t man, thats pretty awesome. i have some fairly major engine stuff coming up soon, and some nice brakes would be a handy addition to the set up.

also curious on how much $$$ he wants for his 4 spot brakes kit though too :?:
