Does anyone know how the BTRs in the AU they were supposedly supposed to have strengthened internals and revised valving. ??

Do we know if it actually differed or was any stronger than the EF/EL autos ?

Cheers
Kev

Yes I think they were stronger. Basically a BA V8 box.
To run the adaptive shift and get the reliability improvement you will probabily need an AU TE50 ECU.

well id be running a WOLF3d plus ver 4 standalone instead of the factory EF XR6 ECU so that should work fine shouldnt it ... was more concerned about whether mounting and installing etc were the same

Both were BTR97LE's but the AU was the "M" version. I'm running an EL box behind a 220kw TS eng with the TS ecu.

Sweet, Only problem I have is I don't know if the car is selecting the different modes, eg max power, max performance, or adaptive. I think it is in adaptive shift mode.

Box is handling the engine well.

You will need the AU TE50 ECU to run the box. Shift feel might be a bit funny becasue all the load/Speed points will be wrong, but if you have an engine that is putting out around 250Kw on max power it might not be too bad. -ie better than standard trans and ecu.

Big Kev,

Any time you want to ask any Q's just e-mail me at chrisneekiwi@optusnet.com.au.

I was down in Canberra a couple of weeks ago overnight.

Might have to come down and meet a few of the ACT boys, as I might be moving there in 6 months or so for work.

The Adaptive Shift detects the driving style, then changes between 5 shifting maps. There is a way to manually select the 5 different maps, it's listed in the t-series owners books, but I can't remember exactly what it is.

Are you running an AU ECU? Are the steering wheel mounted buttons working?
