Cutting the bump stops will only increase ride quality if the car is actually resting on them, or touching them when hitting a bump. The bump stops are a piece of rubber like material bolted to the chassis(on older cars), and are easy anough to find, but remember, they're there for a reason! They stop the suspension from travelling too far, stop steering arms from hitting things, and reduce the impact of the car bottoming out. How low is your falcon? And is it sitting on custom springs, or cut springs. If theyve been cut, they wont have the correct spring rate to stop the car from hitting the bumpstops. I would also think that by going that low, the car would no longer have at least 100mm of ground clearance, nor two thirds of the original suspension movement!

Bump stops are on the shock pistons on EL. If you have cut springs you will have a harsh ride. Full stop.

If you didnt replace your shocks, your springs wont be trapped and have the possibility of coming out of their seats, and going through a tyre or something else equally as bad. If it is sitting on the bumpstops sonstantly, then by cutting some off you wont fix the problem. Get yourself some king ultra lows or something, and some shortened shockies. Might not be quite as low, but it will be lower than legal, and will be ar safer.

as people have said, get proper sprngs and matching shocks.
but i have to ask, why did you cut the back so low, and leave the front? or were you planning on selling the car on the hill and hoping no one noticed the angle of the ground? |
