hey ive just put lovells superlows on my xr8 and its no where near low enough for me, i want the gaurds well and truely over the rim/tyre. So ive just bought some ultra lows to get it lower. Ive been told about bumpstops restricting the car form dropping lower? what the hell are these and how do i get rid of em?

i think removing bump stops is illegal and if your insurer finds out your insurance is void. can get defected too

IT is illegal and the distance you can lower your car depends on the relative distance between the normal bumpstop distance and the lowered distance also the lowest part ofyour vehicle must not be less than 100mm or 4 inches take it from a transport inspector (retired). :P all to do with adr legislation

put it this way

bumpstops prevent excessive suspension travel from going beyond the suspensions limits and causing damage, remove the bumpstops, and there is a VERY good chance you will bottom out on the suspension, and without anything to stop it, suspension components WILL bend, and when that happens, things can and do go to s**t very quickly

do you really want to kill yourself, your mates or someone else just to look cool?

my zorst is illegal, and its doing no harm, but the cops think is does? i was thinking along those lines but if its dangerous like bending susp parts then its probley illegal for a good reason......

your exhaust is illegal? lets see....

if in terms of noise, its illegal because like it or not, even though it may sound good, it is f**k annoying at 3am when some stupid f**k drives past your house with a f**k loud exhaust and wakes you up..... nevermind the annoyance to other road users during normal hours.....

the advantage of a quieter exhaust? less attention from the piggies when you want to play up a little

if you've gutted your cats or something similar, its illegal because its contributing to the already woeful state of the polluted atmosphere we live in
