I am using QFM HPX pads on both my EF (1-piston) and AU2 (2-piston) XR6s, and they are excellent. Great initial bite, no squeal, negligible dust, and reasonable price. If you tend to do a lot of hard braking you could upgrade to their A1RM compound.
I went from an EBC Redstuff/Greenstuff combo on DBA slotted rotors on my EF to the HPX, and the improvement was dramatic. Some of that would be going from worn pads to new, for sure. But I would never go back. And the QFM HPX is half the price of EBC. Got them from GSL Rallysport. http://www.gslrallysport.com/ I upgraded my AU2 XR6 from Bendix GCT to QFM HPX, and the stopping distance decreased by 20-30%. The Bendix pads and stock rotors were brand new when I bought the car, so I was comparing new with new, and there is no contest. GCT's are for geriatrics in Hyundais. Go with QFM - you won't be disappointed.

Have u found the QFM to eat the rotor more??? how many kms have u done on them and do u think they have a long life???

I will definitely be purchasing them HPX when its time for a change

I have only had them in the EF about 3-4 months (about 3,000 kms), and in the AU2 2 months (about 2,000 kms), so nothing definite. But they look to be pretty easy on rotors - it gives them an almost polished look. When I did the pads on the EF, I didn't skim the rotors. You can see that the minor grooves left behind by the previous pads are still untouched, so they can't be chewing the rotors much. I can't say for sure. Greg at GSL would would be able to give you a better idea of typical pad life and rotor wear. sales@gslrallysport.com

This pad seems the way to go as if it dosent eat the rotor much they should last longer and i rather change pads than rotors, as its cheaper and easier.............

Yeah i can see why your brakes havent warped in 20 months. Brembos are setup for hard use. And plus I cant see any Ford logo on those calipers so thats definately helping the situation. I got standard twin piston Ford spec calipers/rotors. I must admit though, they are definately an imporvement on the Series 1 AU calipers, which was my last car. After owning a series 1 AU i cant say i was too keen to blow a grand on wicked rotors/pads before i see how long it takes to warp the standard stuff, and even when they do warp on my BA you can only notice it at about 100+k's.

I ended up with Bendix Heavy Duty. Mainly because my local Bursons doesn't stock any other brand (i couldn't be bother running around looking for anything else) and DBA and Bendix recommend this combination. So I will see how they go.
The Rotors machined up ok, so all is good for the time being

Just got the ophone call i was waiting for from QFM, They are able to make me a set pads to suit my patrol with a compund suited for use in wet/corrosive (salt water/beach and genreal water) conditions, backing plates are stainless steel and have a higher wear rate on the rotors to keep the surface clean and free of rust.
I was/am having issues with rotors rusting and reducing brake performance. |

QFM are good on the less dust thing, i wasnt aware that they have different compounds, not sure what mine are but they were $90 for a full set for au3, im going to upgrade to BA spec with RDA's and different compound QFM's over xmas

now there are alot of options.
what would be the best for a EB that is driven hard every now and then. i put new brakes on it about 6 months ago and i've had to machine them twice. getting sick of it really
