Haha, if your running any decent amount of power/torque you can ditch that idea. Danbode, when my T5 packs it in i'll be looking at fitting a C4 also, fully manualised, shift kitted and stall to suit the cam. Probly run 3.9 or 4.1 in the a*** and watch the 1/4 mile times drop .

If I ever smash a T5 a 5 speed will be going back in. TKO FTW.

4.1's and no overdrive would suck!

Plus whats so bad about the above set-up, once adapted to the driving difference theres no probs. I cant see a manualised C4 with a mild stall being any harder to drive than a T5 with ceramic clutch.....

What kind of revs does a 4.1 diff and 1:1 top gear give you?

Enough to drive you crazy after about 5 minutes at freeway speeds

Cera-metallic is more than enough for the street, and I will be putting in leiu of the bastard I have here. Trust me, I have both. |

Trust me, I have both. C'mon mate we cant all drive 300rwhp everyday of the week . To me 300rwhp is a weekend toy, considering i drive a work ute all week i cant see why i'd wanna use the XH for anything more than a weekender. Also the stall i'd be looking at would be around 2800-3000, for the car its going into i would call that fairly mild. The cutch i'm running at the moment is the extreme cushioned buttom cerami-metallic, which isnt too bad, but im sure driving the C4 aint gonna be alot harder.

I only meant that 300rwhp is basically any HSV or FPV car these days, with the old rear wheel HP is engine kw rule of thumb. These cars drive brilliantly, have magnificent clutches and or autos, are a pleasure to drive, and just do what they have to do.
You can make a very tough, quick car still nice to drive is what I meant, because its just my age showing through, but when they become temperamental tuffies, like big stalls etc are, you lose the enjoyment of being able to use them on the street as you want to. I have the toys here that are spastic animals, and rarely use them, and enjoy driving a BFII one tonner much more or the F truck, because you can just go about your business in them. The tough cars are great fun, in small doses.......if you know what I mean.....10 sec doses.....lol |
