My mate has an NF fairlane and is wanting to purchase a camber/castor kit, what are some brands you's could reccomend?
Also are they hard to put in yourself? Or should he leave it to a suspension specialist? Thanks fellas, Rob |

It depends on what you're after ie. adjustable or not (shims). The adjustable kits are pretty expensive but can change to suit height/use. A couple of brands that I know of are KMAC and Whiteline (both do decent adjustable ones) and KMAC also has the shim type.
It's pretty simple to do yourself, but just make sure you get a wheel alignment STRAIGHT after or you run the risk of chewing your tires out really quickly! |

thanks for the information mate. I dont think he really needs an adjustable one that he could adjust, just something to stop chewing his tyres out with how low it is, and its not really that low!

Yeah, NF/NL Fairlanes tend to have bad outer wear. I am only on lows and with my Kmac kit, it is already at max neg setting!! If I went any lower it would be compromising tyre wear as I can't adjust it any further. I find you will want 1 degree neg camber..

If you can afford it, go for it.. Falcon's should come with better kits. See how she goes first, if you are getting bad tyre wear and can't adjust it any more then you'll need one.

Hmmm adjustable are around the high 100 mark, to 250 or thereabouts. The shim type I am not entirely sure about (thinking $80-150 installed), but go to a wreckers (self serves always good) and you can usually find them on EAs for some reason. I picked up the shim type with the upperarm for about $25! But now I have the adjustable KMAC ones

The aftermarket shim ones have longer bolts which is why you buy them. The adjustable one is even better though, as long as you make sure you tighten them heaps..

I have the shim type KMAC cost $88 brand new and have super lows. They work fine haven't noticed any uneven tyre wear. A mechanic i know recommend not using adjustables becuase under stress he said they can move and that means more wheel alignments = $$$. Dont know if anyone has ever experienced this but there you go...
