I have a shagged 2.92LSD, Is it possible to take out the LSD and put it into a 3.08 SS diff to make it a 3.08LSD?

Also I know manual and auto's have different tailshafts but will an diff from an auto still bolt up to a manual tailshaft?

cheers

tyes the tailshaft will bolt up :) the difference is in the lenghts of the tailshafts due to the gearboxes being different lenghts

yes it is possible to remove the lsd and swap it around :)

more than likey the shop will put the 3.08 diff gears into the 2.92 lsd housing

even though the 2.92 LSD diff is stuffed with major bearing noise?
Is it something I could do myself?

Nah the point is that I would get a 3.08 SS in good nick to replace my 2.92LSD so that I dont have to re-build it anymore.
I want to take the LSD out of the 2.92 and put it into the 3.08, as far as I can determin from your posts, this is possible?

yes it is possible but some parts will need to be replaced
some parts within the lasd may need to be replace ie the clutch packs, springs etc.

i did the same with a banjo diff in my ht took a 3.73 lsd diff and put it inot a 3.08
