Hi guys just had front wheel alignment done alls well but the guys at Bob Jane said that they could only adjust my castor to max and got these readings.

Left +3*18'
Right +3*28'

He said that my Left wheel sat a fraction behind my right wheel and that they adjusted it as much as it would go and that it wouldnt be a problem
but the car would sill pull a bit to one side. He said the solution is a castor Kit. What is it and is it easy to do? I just did my stub axles and that was a piece of piss. And I assume I will require another wheel alignment after this.

Castor is the amount of tilt in degrees from vertical of the spindle when viewed from side view.

There is more to it than just castor. If the setback is within spec then you should have no problems. That castor spec is still OK, although not perfect.

also cast helps return the steering wheel to the straight ahead postion


if u have a non xr with xr spec suspension a camber castor kit is needed

bassically allows for more movent of the suspension arms

pretty easy to install

depends on many factors..
the camber castor kit is just longer bolts :)

if the suspension and joints are in good nick then a kit may not be needed
as only a small adjustment is needed

but say your joints are a bit worn or a suspension arm is slightly bent ( which u cant tell ) then a kit is needed to get the correct specs in the alignment

I've just lowered my EB1 with kings super lows,and it definitely required a camber and castor kit-(about $230 at Bursons)-cheaper if you have a trade account.The kit has longer bolts,with a large supply of shims,as when you lower the car,the top of the wheels fall inward towards the car-just like super tourers.This is no good for street use as it wears the tyres on the inside-hence the camber and castor set to correct the situation

you need more positive castor on the left side and the camber to be slightly more positive on the right to hold the camber of the road. 7 out of 10 EA to ED's and 5 out of 10 EF/EL's needed kits in standard form.
