I really want LSD, however to buy new is a joke and i don't happen to have a spare thousand dollars. To cut to the chase, will an EB GT LSD diff centre fit into an EBI s-pak diff?? i'm thinking yes, can any one confirm that????

Are you sure your SPak hasn't already got an LSD? I have an EB SPak and it has a factory fitted LSD (previous owner could have optioned it at the factory thoug)

i think series one is 25 spline and the series two onwards is 28 spline so the answer is no unless you also change the stub axles, can some one confirm this??
but yeah if they are both 25 or 28 spline than you can just swap the centres over easy.

how much is this center?
a disc>disc LSD in std ratios 3.23,3.45 dont cost that much, and do the whole thing? |

Sure it's possible assuming you address the question posed above re: splines.
But my understanding of these diffs is that changing centres is not an ultra-easy job. Bascially need to pry the diff housing open dont ya??

^Good point. They ain't a banjo style diff, they're salisburys so they have to be shimmed etc.

Dude, get a quote for fitting a centre before you think it's gonna be cheap.
Not as simple as pulling out old centre, putting new centre in. Disc to disc swap is the way to go, easy backyard job that doesnt require any special tools or knowledge.

get the centre that i'm talking about done pro? or just go to a pro and get them to do it? if theres any chance that i can do it then i'm going to give it my best. i have a spare diff, so if i f**k up its not the end of the world i can whack that one in while i sort this one out.

i did mine a while ago, 28 spline, 3.23 ratio, lsd, paid $400 for complete diff, the bloke at the wreckers would not budge on price as the 28 spline axles sell for $200 a piece, so if your paying any more than $100 for the lsd and you don't have the right axles, your better off buying a complete unit from the wreckers

the eb gt was released in dec 92. so i'm guessing it will be a 28 spline. as i have an ebI i guess its likely that i have a 25 spline. it appears that i might be in luck theres a chance that i might have a 28 spline since there are other threads where people have 28 on their EBSI. is there any way i can tell what spline i have without taking it to bits?
