Hey guys for a few weeks or so now Ive been having problems with my steering where if I turn the wheel to right while car is running it jams and only turns with force it also makes a whining sound. About a month before this I had driven through a couple of puddles that also caused the steering to jam up and only turn with force.
The power steering has a new belt and also fluid, i have disconnected the steering shaft from the rack to see if its the column bush and bearing that all seems fine so its either the rack or the pump. The next thing im going to try is Jack the car up with ignition on but not running and physicaly turn the wheels lock to lock. but after that im stumped for ideas on what it can be or how to fix it. If anybody here has any ideas that would be great. I also have a EL here that if the racks are the same i could swap it into the ED? cheers |

i doubt an el rack will fit the input shafts will be diffrent. are all your ball joints good? maybe 1 is knackered and causing a lot of friction.
