ok so I have done the usual things, Tyres, Wheel balance (Twice) etc

doing 90 or over my car shakes (the steering has some shudder) I can see the shifter shaking and feel the shaking through my seat...

What could be the causes...???

Thanks in advance.

it is only speed related and not rev related?

If it does it a common rev point it can be the harmonic balancer...

If it is speed its post the gearbox... so tailshaft is still balanced?

Other than that really only wheels that need balancing... Rim aren't buckled?

Cheers,
Tim

thanks for the reply fellas...

nah its not rev related... Either gear its in its the same... When you go above 90 shakey shakey seems till you go above 125km its gone.

I had a similar problem a while back. It ended up being the extension housing bush in the trans was flogged out and I also had a bent tailshaft. Cost me $40 for a changeover housing with new bush and about $80 for tailshaft balance.

Good Luck I hope that helps!

I agree with 'izedso'. Get an Auto Transmission shop to check out the extension housing bush.

Cheers

Tyre weights stuck on with dbl sided tape? Any missing? I had 4 trips to biggest tyre seller in the country to get my wheels balanced. As soon as the car got to 70km/h, BANG! under the car, one of the weights would've come off and bounce from the chassis to the road and the balance was gone.. Went to Jax, and problem is gone.

new bearings in the front stopped the shuddering i got at highway speeds.

if your wheels were out of balance before it's likely the bearings suffered.
