No a ratio change on its own will not change you from a single spinner to an LSD.
You will need to have a LSD hemisphere fitted as well.

no the gears wont change it to a lsd and with diffs best to pay someone to do it

they need to be set with the correct backlash and such, to much stuffing about.

Pretty much.
Instead of spending up on an LSD and then repairing it for it to still be s**t you are better off going to a lockright locker. You can still drive it but fully locks when you are up it.

not too much, i dont really do too much in the way of long trips, campbelltown is as far as i go lately and am planning to go for a while. in fact to think about it i dont drive very much at all anymore - sometimes the car can sit fr up to 3 days doing nothing

what kind of seat-of-your-pants difference will it make?

if you dont care for economy go 3.7's
you will notice a fair difference with them.

Anyone have any real data for how much they jumped in consumption when changing ratios. I have a Fairlane with 3.89s in it and while the gears are great the car is my cruiser as I have another car thats my speedster. What kind of economy benifit would I get from going back to 3.45s?

FYI When cruising at 100km/h I am on about 2250 RPM.

Well I run 3.45s behind a manual, and sit on 2200rpm @ 100ks... I wouldnt bother going back to 3.45s. I had 3.23s originally and get the same if not better economy now.

also, remember, if you have 3.08 gears, 3.45 or 3.70 won't fit into your 3.08 housing, you will need a 3.23 one to fit a higher ratio setup.

Laticia.
