Which way do the grease seals go? I thought the rubber black lip should face in towards the middle of the car, wanted to make sure.

That would be correct.
The larger harder circle bit gets pressed/thumped into the back of the hub, and the softer flexible part then slides over the large round part of the spindle. Cheers BenJ

Make sure you knock them in all the way till they stop, if you don't you will burn off the outer seal lip.

Just did them. Every bloody time I Do it I take at least one slither of the lip off. Is it possible not to?
Still have a slight shudder at 100, down for a balance and alignment tomorrow methinks. Thanks BenJ and CJH. |

I have a tool I made years ago for installing hub seals for EA to EL Falcons. Doesn't wreck them one little bit.
