They are not that hard to do, just can be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.
Also standard shocks will be too soft for your new springs. I have some new KYB rear shocks here that you can have for $80....

No, I am not pissing in your ear.
You need gas shocks to control the stiffer springs.

agree with the aftermarket shocks comment. If you put your standard ones in with lowered springs you will kill them in no time. If you plan to upgrade later, as in a few weeks thats fine, but if you want good ride as well as handling. spend a bit extra and do yourself a favor and get short throw shocks. They are generally 1" shorter in body but give you extra travel in rebound when going over bumps. Much better ride comfort in the long run.

Thats because a lot of people have gotten away with running stock shocks for a while. But it does prematurely wear them out if the springs are lower than low.

so it screws up your shocks if you run them btw they will drop the height 45-50mm
anything else that will stuff up? since i would say i would get new shocks in the next 3-5months or not good enough?

the car i got them from had stock replacement shocks and they were fitted for 2 years before that, monroes. there were no signs of leakage. the ride was nice, not too harsh. but were too low for my driveway. i have now fitted king lows which sit 15mm higher and my tailpipe just clears the road backing out. the kings are slightly stiffer
when u say u have the tools, do u have spring compressors for the front |

It will prematurely reduce what ever life you have left in your shocks....yes. 45-50mm is considered a large drop. Lowering your car that much, I would also invest in a camber kit for the front to prolong the life of your tires once you do a wheel align. You can leave the stock shocks in there for now if you intend on getting new ones soon. But they will be trashed more than likely once you replace them with the new ones. If you havent done so already, look at replacing any worn bushes in general. i.e. 'D' sway bar bushes, link pin bushes, radius rod bushes etc. You will find that with a lowered car, things on your car will wear a bit quicker due to extra strain on different parts etc. So you may need to do a regular check on your suspension every 1-2 years.

iv had lows in my car for a few years on standard shocks.
in saying that my shocks are still fine and comfortable, but still, changing them is next on my to do list. maybe keep the front shocks standard and change the rear, note rear shocks cost about a third of the fronts

Any lower will be a compromise.
