Hey all ..

I've just found out that one of my inner tie rod ends needs replacing ..

how hard is that??

this is for the NL/EL ..

But i've got a brand new one for a ED sitting here ... does anyone know if they are swap-able???

i.e. will a ED rack fit into a EL???

thanks heaps ..

Sommer Girl ..

ED won't fit if you are planning a rack change, the pinion is different, as is EF, the only one that will fit is EL. V8 racks don't have the pressure switch to bump up the revs and NL may have SSPS.

The retainer is just a large washer, knock the flat bit back so you can unwind the rack end.
All racks in EF/L are interchangeable except for ELGT/FBT specific racks. Just change the powerhead on the rack to suit your car.
PM me if you need help or more info, have all workshop manuals here.

The power head is the bit the intermediate shaft bolts to, the first part of the rack, where all inputs go.
There is 4 bolts from memory holding it on, and you can then swap a SSPS head onto a non SSPS rack to get the rack you need.
