You can get lock right lockers on Ebay for about $500. But they say they only fit open diffs, not LSD?

It replaces the centre. probably just as easy to do either one. I had one in my XR, came from an NF fairlane. I am pretty sure it was an LSD originally.

Nope my lane was an open centre orignally Dave.
I had the 3.45 a*** removed from the LSD centre and put onto my hemisphere.
Go the lockright. You wont look back.

I've seen the spartan ones for around $350. $1400  pretty sure you could almost buy one and a half detroits for that.

i want a mechanical locker. not an air locker, spool, mini spool or locker.... all the proper mechanical locker diffs are 1000bucks and up..... are these spartan ones and lock rite ones actual complete centre or just bits to make an open wheel centre locked?

lockrite ones are made up of parts that need to be fitted to an open centre to replace the planetary gears in the centre..

yes spartans and lockrites are a mechanical centre which work like a ratchet so you can still negotiate corners untill you get back on the power, then it's locked again.
$1000 would buy you a detroit locker which are apparently gold plated or nearly 3 average lockers.

The spartan lockers hold up to double reduction geared fourbies with massively oversized tyres, they are far from inferior. And don't let anyone tell you a mechanical locker will save you axles either, it won't if you don't drive it accordingly.

They make lockers for toyota lsd casings not sure about fords. I do know however that they are more expensive and when I priced one for my lux, it would still have been cheaper to buy an open centre.
