Hello again,
I'd like to know if any bearings on front or rear wheels are worn or suspect. How do I go about checking to see if they are still good? I am not familiar with Ford AU Series II vehicles, I use to have a leyland marina that was less complex to work on and much easier to detect worn bearings. Any help on this topic would be welcome. the fronts will make a horrid noise when f**k
to check jack the front up safely with axle stands and remove the front wheels spin the hub if it makes a noise replace the wheel bearings are part of the hub you cannot re grease/re pack them them  should spin nice and smooth/easy

Thanks for that.
I did notice the bearing hub (the part which has the studs) did move independently a bit from the disc, this is on the passenger's side. On the driver's side it was stationary, could not be moved independently. Is this normal ? Cheers |

It's not normal to have movement up and down in a falcon bearing of that time. Another way to check for noise/wear is to jack the car up wheels attached and spin the wheels, place your hand on the base of the strut spring seat and if you feel large vibrations u know ones worn out. There are other tests u can do but if ur still unsure go to a Pedders store they'll sort u out
