I like the BOGE shortened in my EA S. Have also had Koni and KYB's in previous cars, not bad.

I've had Konis and Bilstein. Both very good for ride comfort.

I have as it says there below. Ultima shorten shocks all round with king springs superlows. My rear shocks and springs are heavy duty, car sits nice and rides very smooth and handels awesome.

Pretty nice shocks for a budget brand, but i heard Ultima are one of the few companies that make shorten shocks.

Hey dude

im in the same boat as you are ive got a el xr6 but ive got super lows in the front and super lows in rear that have been compressed another 35-40mm. Im still using standard shockers and my ride is terrible! I got offered monroe gt shortened shocks for like 90bucks brand new. Has anyone heard good or bad or had any experience with the shockers?

Another vote for KYB's. I had a set in my last car which was lowered all round with super lows and while the rough wasn't a dream the handl;ing was superb. You can't expect a heavenly ride with a lowered vehicle.

I know most people are sceptical of getting anything other than a 'name' brand, but i just got a set of modified shocks that will by far out perform bilsteins, teins or anything else you can name.

It all comes down to hydralics, and these manufacturers build to their own preset standard.

The shocks I have just installed in my BA are rebuilt standard items that WELL AND TRULY outperform my original items! I have next to no body roll, the car goes exactly where i point it, and performs acrobatics on call. the only thing lettiing me down is my poor old tyres.

I installed the shocks on saturday, and have been testing my favourite corners since, and entry speeds are all MUCH higher, confidence is MASSIVE, predictability is PEAKING!

Wet roads tonight were so much fun! Everypoint where I would have had a point of second guessing were all obliterated!

The shocks I have put in are rebuilt second hand items, ideally you'd want rebuilt new items (any make), but i am SO UNBELIEVABLY happy with these second hand units!!

If anyone is thinking of getting new shocks for any model, get a quote on what you want, but before you buy call Jason.

Tell him MaTTe with the BA sent you, and you will be pleasantly surprised!

If you need ot experience it for yourself, get in touch and i'll take you for a drive in my car.

It will open your eyes to 'name' brands

PM me if you want his number, or if you want more info..

Happy Motoring!

Rebuilt shocks? Sounds dubious.

Rebuilt as in manufactured inside premanufactured housings, most parts are reused.

But your opinion shows alot of doubt. This is understandable, I could talk about it all day and you'd still never understand until you got into my car.

I invite anyone in perth to experience the best handling mod you could possibly wish for. Organise a time, and i'll take you for a drive.

If you have any concerns about the shocks being rebuilt to be modified, then just buy new shocks and have them modified.

Roundabouts are as easy to negotiate as driving in a straight line used to be!

Anymore sceptics are invited to prove me wrong!

Happy Motoring
