without being a FWD expert, could it perhaps be something with the CVs? accelerator and steering related?
Just a thought... |

i'd say it was the CVS, but without seeing or looking at it, take it too a tyre place and get them to check it out!

I would check your engine mounts as front will drive vehicles tend to snap them.It is generally cv`s when you get the clicking noise.

probably early CV signs - when they started to go in my old laser the first sign was as the clutch started to bite, you'd get a clunk.

Yep i reckon everyone is correct. We got a screwed CV in one of our FWD bush bashers. Can feel it in the steering whel also, pretty funny.

My Mum had a KF Laser with the Whiteline Works Kit ... and she had a similar issue ... IT WASN'T CV's.
It was a steering rack issue ... wasn't cheap either. It would make the clunk when you initially turn the steering wheel slightly ... but that was all. Also other bushes needed replacing as well (they wore much quicker after lowering). Pedders found the problem for her ... and fixed it ... no clunks. Best to get a suspension place to do a "safety" check and write down when they find out .... you can get a few places to do the same check and compare findings if you are not certain.

Also to add .... when CV's go in the Laser's ... they make a very distinctive clackity-clackity-clack sound when turning and using throttle at the same time. Not the symptoms that was given above.
