hi all
i have just spent a bit of money in replacing the steering rack, tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints and also having a wheel aliment trying to chase a clunk noise that comes from what i think is the front right wheel area i cant see any damage to any bushes or any other components and it happens first thing in the morning reversing out the drive when i just touch the brake and the then turning to take off it can clunk 1 2 3 even 4 times as whatever it is moves i got no clue what it is but it seems like you can feel it through the steering wheel????? any help with this maybe something i have over looked or maybe this has happened to someone else? thanks STADIC |

Wheel bearing maybe.
But that would have more noticable problems whist actually driving. my cars steering rack "shudders" whilst turning. I put some power steering rejuvinator (sp?) in it and now it only does it after long trips. Maybe try that. But with a new rack I doubt itd be it. |

Just a thought mate, Check the rack bolts as the rack may be slightly moving, as if it was a sway bar bush or the likes I would not think you would feel it through the steering wheel,
what are the upper and lower control are bushes like, do you have a camber kit fitted, if so and the alignment people may not of tightened them enough, I all, just go over all the bolts in the front end and make sure all is tight, just as another thought check your K Frame bolts also, Scotty

i been back to the tyre place where i got the wheel aliment done and we now think its the upper control bushes are dry when i got the adjustable camber caster kit put in they didnt use the proper grease and so now it creeks as it moves slightly??
and the creek noise was there before i did all the front end work |
