2002 AU3 XR6. Ok had the auto rebuilt bout 12 months ago. 2gs cost me with some other work done but today i jump in move selector to reverse n the revs jump up for a sec n the car clunks but its more towards the diff. I put it bak into park n she almost stalls on me? Reverse again same clunk towards a** end? Normal driving is fine normal shifts up but slowing down to say a speed hump i can feel the clunk. Is my diff shagged? (never had it serviced since i bought the car) or auto again? If auto anyone know any good places in northern suburbs for manual conversion. This auto crap is Startin to piss me off.

Probably isn't a bad idea to do a oil change on the diff. Very easy on the AU's. 1.6 litres should go in as per my repair manual.

I have a pretty s**t clunking sound coming from my diff. Replacing the oil from what was in there to synthetic Castrol SAF-XA helped a lot.

Can't comment on your transmission though...
