Heya,
I'm putting a t5 in my EA s1 GL after the 3 speed died in the a***. I allready had the conversion kit so there was no point replacing the 3 speed. Anyways, so far i've got the pedal box in, the wiring loom was allready modified for a 3 speed, i've put the clutch cable in, flywheel and i'm stuck with the clutch alignment. I bought one of those plastic universal clutch alignment tools, but it just seems useless, especially on the Falcon clutch. Someone has suggested I try and find an input shaft and cut it down, but i think that would be costly. I'm just after opinions and advice on where i could get a tool to suit the EA Falcon clutch, though i assume all e-series are the same ?, or maybe someone has one they could lend me, one that will work! There would be alchohol in it for you, or a couple of bucks, i'm in eastern burbs melb, near croydon. This is the only thing stoping me from bolting up the t5. It's frustrating, as I don't think i'll beable to do it bye eye/touch. Also while i'm here, i've separated the bellhousing from the tranny as it seems to make it a heap easier to get to those top bolts not to mention it takes a bit of the weight off. Is this a good idea or is it better/easier to do it as one ? Any help from people who have done the manual conversion on the E-series Falcons would be heaps appreciated. Thanks in advance. Damo |

There is only really 3 ways to do it,
By eye, clutch alignment tool, or old input shaft. I prefer a input shaft, if you can find one. Wreckers are your best bet.

Thanks for the replies.
I ended up using the clutch tool, and it worked a treat. I think i was lucky. Just Falcons wouldn't lend me their tool, and I couldn't find a input shaft. The 5 speed is in now. I'm luvin it. Damo |
