I made up 2 steel plates with holes in the middle and holes for bolts to go through , removed clutch cable fitted the plates one on engine side and one on cabin side drilled threw firewall where holes for bolts were to go and clamp together using bolts (use loktite or something sim on nuts). I also weld the cable sleave to the plate on the engine side just to give it that little bit extra. Its worked for me and havent had a prob with it for near on 5years now. I did some drawings (not to scale) to give ya some idea on what i did, sorry its not perfect

this is the first AU with a firewall cracking i have heard of! I have heard of them leaking before but never a crack until now.
same fix for Au firewall as for E-Series.

You will find it very difficult to weld an AUII fire wall, as they are laminated with a urethane inner.
Ford did this for NVH reasons. Plating it by using 3/16" stainless steel rivets may be the go.
