Is there any way to stop this? My cable snapped today just where it goes into the firewall even though it has the mod done to it.

Has anyone found a solution? I'm using a stage 2 hardcore clutch from sunbury brakes, so it's pretty heavy.

Is there a place in Brisbane where I can get a custom cable (thicker) made up, and does anyone have the specs of the standard XH cable so I can give to the people who knock one up for me?

Cheers.

Not sure mate, I haven't had a look at anything. If it was bent, would the pedal be at a weird angle or not move freely?

the clutch is to heavy for the type of cable... hydraulic is the answer..

I put a new cable in it today, it feels so much lighter than before. Still heavy, but much better.

I realised that the firewall mod was done dodgily, the piece of pipe was siliconed on and it doesn't actually go through the firewall, it's just a tiny length stuck to the plate.

Does anyone make these firewall brace things with the tubes in them?

Troyman, I'm only a Uni student so I can't really spend $800 + converting it to hydraulic. It would be nice, though.

I bought the genuine clutch bracket from bayford spares on eBay. My car has the mod done but if my cable goes I will fit the genuine bracket. If it isn't on eBay just send an eBay message to Jeff from bayford and he'll list one for you to buy now. They are fantastic for Ford spares.

If you know how to do a bit of welding, make one up yourself that will sit over the top of the stock one. Many have made it and worked, myself included. Mine looks ugly as dog s**t, but it works.

It's fine now, lol. The piece in my car actually works, it's just that my mate hooked the cable up to the pedal first and when tried to hook it up at the other end. He didn't have the amount of pull he needed so he cut the rubber grommet thing off. This caused a ton of movement and resulted in the cable snapping.

I put a new cable in the other day and it's fine.
