Gday guys and girls.
Need advice on a clutch kit. Looking at a couple of different ones on eBay and the like. Found the exedy OEM replacement kit for an acceptable price but was wondering what clutches people have used, how much they paid and where they got them from. Any advice is good advice! Here are some that I am looking at. Need someone with more experience on the subject to help out. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RPM-Clutch-Kit-Ford-Falcon-EB-ED-EF-EL-AU-6cyl-H-Duty-/130460815741?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6012117d http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Falcon-Clutch-kit-eb-ed-ef-el-au-heavy-duty-/390025532782?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5acf55556e http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Falcon-CLUTCH-KIT-EB-ED-EF-EL-XG-XH-HD-Cussion-Button-/390085119158?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5ad2e28cb6 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/EXEDY-CLUTCH-KIT-FORD-FALCON-XR6-UTE-EB-ED-EF-EL-/150525819062?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item230c09b8b6 Which is the best clutch for the money? Need something grippy but not too extreme. Cheers Sam

I have a Sunbury Brakes clutch which I got for $245 or 255 I think. I've had it about 3 months and driven it pretty hard in that time and it seems to take it well, time will tell.

Cool.
In the item listings for the ones on ebay they specifically state that they are not suitable for xr6 in some listings. WTF? Aren't the clutches exactly the same anyway? Or were the OEM replacements different between them? Skid: Did you get the HD one? Or just the standard OEM replacement?

I have the Valeo kit p/n H1220N. A few guys here have used this kit, and everyone seems happy with it. Good feel, not too heavy. Available thru Sunbury brakes.

I would go an Xtreme HD clutch. I have run plenty of different ones, Exedy, PBR, Valeo and Xtreme. The Xtreme has the best feel, handles the abuse I throw at it, is not stupid heavy either.

I run the Xtreme performance clutch which I bought from Hightek Brakes. Still running since 2008...however I don't abuse it much.
The performance clutch kit is slightly less heavier than the HD one. The clutch felt much lighter than the standard after I put it in, but the fact that my stock one had bent un-even fingers didn't help it's cause. I would think the performance on is slightly heavier than standard. I paid $395 delivered back in '08.

I run the bit heavier one. I don't think it is rated as high as the xtreme ones, but I find it has good pedal feel.
I would like to compare with xtreme, but for the price and after reading others good reviews thought the Sunbury one was worth trying.

Let us know how it is once you've run it a bit.

I run an Xtreme HD and to be honest, it feels pretty ordinary.
Very Nice pedal feel, quite light actually, but when it comes to on the ground it feels slightly softer than a PBR XR replacement. They're just a painted LUK clutch, Yes, I'd buy another one, but only because they're about the same price as people retail PBR's for now. But if it was for a boosted application, I'd get something a little better.

The Sunbury one (ie a valeo unit).
I think troyman also runs one? I asked a similar question on here before buying mine and a few people said they were happy. My car is only stock except for headers/exhaust, but with 255 potenza's on the back I have done some hard launches (coming up to 3000 without loss of traction) and hasn't slipped yet I almost forgot, I got told to make sure I get the 6 bolt one (not sure why this would be a problem as all EB2 onwards cars had 6 bolt clutch) as the 3 bolt one wasn't as good, I think it feels pretty heavy from what I had read.

I've just replacd my PBR RPM clutch ( old yellow one, got 8 years out of it ), with a new PBR RPM clutch and they are very diferent to what they used to be...they are a "bitsa".
Has a Valeo clutch plate, and a Non PBR pressure plate...all in a PBR box...well.....a Ci box....they are called Ci now...Clutch Industries. Oh yeah, I use 6 bolts to attach it to the flywheel.....instead of 3.

I am running the Valeo HD kit p/n H1220N. Good pedal feel and is going well for now.
I am a sympathetic driver usually, but it gripped well enough on a recent cruise to allow me the need of repeated opposite lock, on a dry twisty road. Cheers BenJ
