Hey guys,

My manual gear all arrived today, and the clutch has about 0 meat left on it. So i will be looking for a new one.

I only want a stocko one, no need for HD or anything.

My real question is how do those ebay kits go? one of the good brand ones. They just seem to be a good $100 or so cheaper than getting them through the stores.

Has anyone got one? How do they perform?

Cheers guys,
Nic

NB: Look at the wanted link in my sig

Here is a pic of the current friction disc (i think thats the right term) that i have. its pretty hard to see in the pictures, but the pads are barely higher than the rest of the disc.

hard to tell how much meat on them from the photo. how much are the ebay kits? i got mine for $325 from repco n that was the clutch plate pressure plate and throwout bearing for just a standard kit, i didnt think that was too bad. if you just want to replace the clutch plate i think theyr like $120.

yeah its hardly any meat, proly 0.2mm or so, its almost flat

the ebay ones usually go for around the $200 mark for what i've seen, but i havent been watching them closely.

i'll need a whole kit, the throwout bearings have a bit of slop in them and the other bit (not sure of the name) is pretty glazed up

yea id say go a new kit, i didnt replace mine when i did the conversion and ended up having to pull it out not long after and replace it anyway which realy p****d me off. yea throw out bearing i would definatly do asswell $200 sounds good for a kit if u can pick one up at that price. the other bit is called the pressure plate, you will get that in the kit aswell, if you use the same one give it a light rub back with some emary paper, also give the surface of the flywheel a light rub back aswell
