The last few days my clutch has been playing up and today it got really bad. It doesn't seem to be disengaging properly. When Im driving along if I floor it then the car just revs like its in neutral or im slightly riding the clutch. I can drive the car and it goes OK until I accelerate a little.
Do I need a new clutch or something else?

Sound like your clutch is slipping, so I'll agree with alfy on that. Or the clutch may be a little bit more worn then when you installed it, so you can adjust the clutch cable.

I had this exact problem in my ED, it turned out to be a rooted clutch cable, check the cable and if it is fine, re-adjust it and then go for a drive

I was going to suggest this. If the clutch is new, maybe the wrong pressure plate has been supplied and does not have a enough force to keep the friction plate clamped. If it was the cable, it would only affect the disengagement of the clutch, if it wasn't fully disengaging the definately the cable would be stretched or the firewall would be cracked or warped from the force of the cable pulling against it. |
