yeah mate had the same problem on my ef aftermarket 5 speed in the end we worked out that the cable wasnt routed properly and with in the time it wasnt it strected the cable because mine used to stick out to china so give it a shot cheers
yeah well im in nsw and they qouted me 125 dollars for my clutch cable i went to the ford centre in cardif and they gave me a new one for $79 ford dnt know s**t got no idea about nothin i wanted to take my seat out to fix the broken brackets they wanted 80$ per seat the tool cost me $4 and the old man welded it up all up it cost me about 20 bucks so where do they get $80 |

If you measure from the back of the pedal where it meets the carpet and the distance to the floor is a good indication of travel. Duh i know, but just making sure..... |

ff: yeah, i measured the travel. it goes all the way to the floor, and i measured where it touches.
94: interesting. could you please tell me where "incorrectly" run is? and where properly run is. at the moment, i just played with ways to make it not touch the headers or anything moving. |

My cable runs forward and down from the firewall to about where the pwr steer rack pipes are and then I've got it cable-tied to the rack across to the other side where it curves back and up to the bellhousing clamp.
Interesting to hear the EF/EL cable is shorter, because the length of mine has always been a drama - ie. the bend radiuses where it goes onto and comes away from the rack are of necessity quite tight to take up the length - shorter would be perfect!
