Just a quick question I have a AUII XR8 it drives fine but the clutch smell is this normal the car thas only done 45000k's. Should i be looking at a after market one?

does the clutch slip at all ?

are you sure it's clutch smell, not a dodgy cat or something..

The clutch does not slip.

It smells like brake so I'm thinking clutch.

I have a BA XT 5 speed with 70,000kms that does exactly the same thing. when you stop, people think you have been out doing bellhousing burnouts or something

do you slip the clutch with your foot alot. the only way to get the xr up my driveway and dodge my brothers car without scratching the wheels on the steps is to slip the clutch a fairbit and it reaks when i get out of the car.

so all in all your clutch maybe fine but just your driving habit that may be the cause.

also you might want to try adjusting the cable so that it engages/disengages sooner when you put the clutch pedal in.
